Have you seen the Harvard Business Review’s 7-part series on “The New Reality of WFH”? It’s really interesting. Everyone has an opinion about WFH; but this is the first research I’ve seen with real data collected from large populations.
One article details research from (1) 680 white collar workers in the US who have been surveyed every 2 weeks in the first 10 weeks of the pandemic, (2) a study that began over a year ago that involved tracking e-mails and calendars, and (3) discussions with senior leaders of several companies.
In another article, Microsoft uses data from their Outlook and Teams products to analyze what happened during WFH. Most of the data comes from a 350-person team in the US, but some of the data came from all 90k Microsoft employees in the US.
